Zambia
The Edmund Rice Mission began working in Zambia in 1964. Working mainly in education and community development, it has committed to providing life skills to the local community in order that they find sustainable livelihoods. Social conditions in Zambia remain tough. Poverty is extensive and the life expectancy is among the lowest in the world, hugely affected by the prevalence of HIV/AIDS.
