Ruben Primary School, run in partnership with the local Christian Brothers, is situated on the ground of the Ruben Centre, in Mukuru – one of Nairobi’s largest slums.Ruben Primary School works towards providing comprehensive education from nursery level to Standard 8. Nurturing a welcoming, clean and secure environment where the children can grow and learn. Providing holistic education that is geared towards personal, community and national development. Cultivating a partnership between all stakeholders which leads to a greater sense of shared responsibility for all educational activities.
The aims of the school are simple: to offer quality education for all students, so that they grow in acceptance of themselves, while gaining an understanding of their socio-economic situation. The school provides comprehensive education from nursery level to Standard 8, a nurturing, welcoming, clean and secure environment where the children can grow and learn and further, a holistic view of education that is geared towards personal, community and national development. There are currently over 2,400 students attending the school and the enrolment policy is in accordance with the Government of Kenya’s policy of free universal primary education.
