Education for Life
Education for Life (EFL) supports people in Eldoret’s informal settlements affected by HIV/AIDS achieve self-reliance. EFL takes a holistic approach to issues faced by its project participants and their families. Skills training in poultry farming, hairdressing and peanut butter production alongside financial literacy classes and Saving Income and Loan Clubs fosters independence among the project participants. Psychosocial support ensures participants can live positively, adhere to treatment and overcome stigma. Advocacy efforts, including an award-winning choir, challenge HIV stigma and spread awareness through powerful messages of hope and resilience.
