Edmund Rice Eldoret Empowerment Programme

The Edmund Rice Eldoret Empowerment programme (EREEP) transforms the lives of teenage girls and young mothers in the Langas informal settlement by tackling the root causes of school dropouts. Through the Girls’ Empowerment Clubs, they provide classes on life skills, sexual and reproductive health and girls’ rights, equipping the beneficiaries with the knowledge and confidence to stay in school. Sanitary towels are distributed to ensure menstrual health doesn’t hinder education, reducing absenteeism and stigma.
EREEP supports young mothers in returning to school and engages boys and caregivers as key partners in breaking cycles of adolescent pregnancies and early marriages. By improving educational performance, fostering social well-being and empowering girls to advocate for their rights, the project aims to create a ripple effect of change for entire communities.
