Empowering Women at Education for Life
Today is International Women's Day, the annual global day to celebrate women and those working to promote equal rights. Edmund Rice Mission has been empowering women in projects around the world, including in the Education for Life programme in Eldoret, Kenya.
The Education for Life (EFL) programme offers psychosocial support to people living with HIV; most of the participants are women. The programme aims to empower participants with life skills and knowledge to make informed and sustainable decisions for a healthy lifestyle, and to give them tools to lift themselves out of poverty. EFL supports approximately 450 families affected by HIV by providing them with food and assistance with school fees, materials and uniforms. Participants are also supported in income-generating activities and are encouraged to become involved in their microfinance scheme.
Support from our donors has enabled projects like Education for Life to continue to transform lives. We hope you consider joining us on our journey by making a gift to the ERD IMPACT 10 appeal.
