CBS Omagh held another successful 10k and 5k run/walk on Saturday, February 11th. Over 300 participants, including students, teachers, and some of the top athletes in the area, took part in this community event and fundraiser. The ‘Spirit of Enda Dolan’ cup was awarded to Tom Quinn who was the first CBS student to complete the 10K race. The 5k ‘Spirit of Enda Dolan’ shield went to top CBS athlete Cathaoir Donnelly.
The proceeds from this race will go to the ‘Education for Liberation’ Programme. This programme focuses on education as a fundamental human right, one that too many children around the world are being denied. The aim this year was to raise enough money to provide one meal per pupil every day for a year in an Edmund Rice School in Zambia. We would like to thank CBS Omagh especially Mr. Ciaran McBride, the students, and all of the supporters who participated.
