Catching Up with Edmund Rice International

It has been a busy winter at Edmund Rice International in Geneva. This past month, ERI hosted the visit of more than 20 student ERI Youth Ambassadors from England and Ireland, as well as facilitating a three-day training in Human Rights and Advocacy for participants from the Edmund Rice Network.

Edmund Rice College Belfast Supports The Mary Rice Centre in Kenya

Many thanks to all the pupils and staff of Edmund Rice College who fundraised £6,000 for the Mary Rice Centre Kenya! The Mary Rice Centre transforms the lives of many young people with physical and intellectual disabilities and their families living in the Kibera slum of Nairobi, Kenya.

From Peru to Bolivia: ERD’s Visit to South America

Programme manager Michael Hanly traveled to South America to visit several projects, including the Reaching New Horizons project, the Centro Hermano Manolo and the Fe y Alegría School, before attending the gathering of the Mission Capacity Support Team in Lima, Peru.

A Royal Visit to The Justice Desk, South Africa

On the 23rd of September, The Justice Desk welcomed The Duke and Duchess of Sussex on the first stop of their African tour. The Justice Desk hosted a community event in Nyanga, a township that faces high levels of poverty and violence, especially against women and children.

Stories from the Field: Agricultural Training in the Western Cluster, Zambia

Last year, the Youth Empowerment Centre was established in Luampa, Zambia. This centre provides an opportunity for young men and women to acquire skills in crop, livestock and fish production.

Displaced Venezuelans in Peru Project

Since 2015, over 4 million Venezuelans have left their country due to the humanitarian crisis there. Edmundo Rice Latinoamérica has been working with these displaced people to ensure their basic needs are met by providing a feeding programme, health care support, short-term housing and advice on obtaining residency.

A Day in the Centro Hermano Manolo in Bolivia

The Centro Hermano Manolo is a drop-in centre that provides basic services for at-risk youth in Cochabamba, Bolivia. Edmund Rice people carry out a mission that follows in the steps of Blessed Edmund Rice more than two hundred years ago.
