Edmund Rice Development is a development organisation inspired by the life and vision of Edmund Rice. Through compassionate presence and seeking mutual transformation, we promote human rights and fullness of life for all, especially those made poor.
Today Edmund Rice Development is working with people living in poverty in India, Bolivia, Peru, the Philippines and nine countries across Africa. We focus on the liberation of people and communities through community development, education and advocacy.
How donations are spent
We are committed to using donations to Edmund Rice Development to work with people in the world’s poorest communities to transform lives.
We work hard to make sure we achieve as much possible with the funds we receive in order to ensure they have the maximum positive impact possible on the project, programme or people you are supporting. During 2015-16, we sent €2.01 million in donor funds and provided development support to 44 Edmund Rice Mission projects, benefitting over 56,000 people in 13 countries across Africa, India, Latin America and the Pacific Rim. 99% of this funding was directed to charitable activities and 1% to raising funds. ERD receives an annual grant for other operational expenses allowing us to maximise the impact of your donations to the projects you support.
We are committed to ensuring accountability in our operation and make sure we are fully transparent about how we use your donations. To find out more about how and where your money is spent, please read our Donor Impact Reports which are available here
